Hadronthérapie

L’équipe développe des activités dans le domaine des techniques innovantes dans la lutte contre le cancer, la hadronthérapie. La balistique favorable qu’offrent les particules chargées, comparé aux rayonnements X utilisés en radiothérapie conventionnelle, permet de traiter plus efficacement certaines tumeurs cancéreuses mais demande en contrepartie une bonne connaissance des modèles physiques et biologiques d’interaction des hadrons avec le vivant.

Son activité, outre le développement de la ligne de radiobiologie expérimentale auprès de la plateforme CYRCé, consiste au développement de nouveaux protocoles précliniques d’irradiation en vue de l’amélioration des futurs traitements et de la mesure des effets des irradiations protons sur le vivant pour l’amélioration des modèles. 

L’équipe travaille dans un domaine de recherche hautement pluridisciplinaire en collaboration avec différentes équipes de biologistes et cliniciens au niveau national et international.
