Biographie

Dr. Aurélie Urbain is Associate Professor of Pharmacognosy at the Faculty of Pharmacy of the University of Strasbourg since 2010. Her expertise encompasses the entire workflow of bioactive natural product research, from sourcing and extraction to biological evaluation, chromatographic method development, and structural elucidation of active compounds. She has developed recognized expertise in the design of TLC bioautographic assays, as well as in the purification of bioactive constituents using centrifugal partition chromatography (CPC). Her current research focuses mainly on the therapeutic potential of medicinal mushrooms, with particular emphasis on metabolites active against multidrug-resistant bacteria. Besides, she still develops innovative TLC bioautographic assays to accelerate the discovery of bioactive compounds from complex natural sources.
