Monolithic active pixel sensors are being developed at the IPHC for vertexing and tracking purposes in existing and future particle physics experiments as well as in various other fields. They will perform better than existing devices in many applications.
In 2014, the first vertex detector (PXL) equipped with CMOS pixel sensors (our MIMOSA-28/Ultimate chip) was installed in the STAR experiment and took data for the entire campaign.
